Romney Votes to Advance the Nomination of Andrew Wheeler
WASHINGTON—Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) today voted to advance the nomination of Andrew Wheeler to be Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. He released the following statement:
“With more than 25 years of experience in environmental policy, including service as a career civil servant at the EPA under both Republican and Democratic administrations, Mr. Wheeler is well-qualified to lead the agency. During my meeting with him as part of the confirmation process, we discussed several issues of importance to Utah – including air quality and prescribed burn issues. I look forward to working with him to ensure that our environmental policies help promote economic growth while also preserving our environment and natural resources.”
